I’ve Said It Before…

…And I’ll say it again.

Cancer Sucks.

Friday Five

Better late than never… it’s the friday five.

1. Are you going to school this year? No.

2. If yes, where are you going (high school, college, etc.)? If no, when did you graduate?
Wow, why don’t you just make me feel old?? :) High School - 1989. College - 1993.

3. What are/were your favorite school subjects? In High School, I really enjoyed English and Anatomy, of all things. In college, my all time favorite class was one I took with the Panty-Man… Golf 101. Remind me one day to tell you the story of the musical model of Denny Chimes, made completely out of golf tees.

4. What are/were your least favorite school subjects? I took Physics, and despised it.

5. Have you ever had a favorite teacher? Why was he/she a favorite? This one’s easy… Ken Lee. He was the first teacher that ever tried to treat kids like adults. He made quite an impression on me, one that carries on to this day.

And I still can’t call him anything other than “Mr. Lee”.

Good News

I finished my OCP Test. I think I did well enough to pass. Unfortunately, I won’t know for sure for about 10 weeks. That’s just how the Beta tests work.

And now, for the good news… I just found out that the Cheetah’s first soccer game is at 8:00 AM. That means I can go to the game, and still make my flight out to San Fran.

Today’s Blogging

Today’s Blogging is on hold, because I’m trying to cram for an Oracle 9i OCP upgrade exam. It’s a beta, which means it will be about 300 questions.

I also have 2 problems:

1) I don’t use 9i.
2) I haven’t studied at all.

Wish me luck. :)

Link-O-The-Decade

Jekyll & Hyde - Wow. One of my all time favorite Contemporary Christian Music bands, Petra, has released another album. I thought the band broke up a long, long time ago.

I think I saw them play 3 times or so. The first time was in Birmingham, I think. The second time was also in Birmingham where, with my buddy Wes, we had front-row center seats. The last time was in Montgomery, when I’d won some tickets off of the radio.

To be honest, I don’t really enjoy their style of music as much as I used to. But the band’s been around for 30 years now. I might just have to buy the album just to see what it sounds like.

Still Racing

Well, I’m still racing to catch up with all of the boy’s pictures. After posting On The Stage and Time Marches On, I’m only 4 and 1/2 months behind!

Obligatory SWK Post

Seeing as I’m a huge Star Wars fan, and consider myself to be Internet-savvy, I feel compelled to post a link to The Star Wars Kid..

For those of you who may not know, the SWK is a guy who was goofing around one afternoon with a video camera and a golf-ball retriever. He tried to emulate a Jedi Knight’s light-saber battle sequence. I saw the original video (available here) a few months ago, and while I thought it was slightly funny, I dismissed it pretty quickly as nothing.

Oh, but was I wrong.

An entire cult dedicated to the SWK has emerged on the Internet. Numerous fansites (such as JediMaster.net have popped up, and lots of people have taken the original footage and transformed it into numerous variations. I highly recommend the original remix, SWK 2.0, and Dork Clones. Other variations, including ones for The Terminator and The Matrix are also pretty humorous.

Ah, the Internet. Where else can someone go from complete obscurity to having people beg George Lucas to put you in the final Star Wars movie (Click Here to vote).

(Of course, supposedly SWK’s parents are upset about the whole thing and trying to sue whoever originally released the video)

Tough

No matter how old I get, I absolutely hate being the bearer of bad news to people. Doesn’t matter if it’s a friend, casual acquaintance, or co-worker. It’s just not fun.

Some time it just stinks to be a Grown-Up.

Upwards Soccer

Brandon got his team assignment yesterday… He’s a Cheetah.

(I found it very funny that a church-sponsored Soccer league has a team name that sounds so much like ‘Cheater’)

Outrage in Alabaster

Neal Boortz wrote an excellent article, last week, in his daily news tidbits about an absolutely outrageous land-grab scheme that is going on just south of here. I don’t want to sound like an extremist, but if you think that you have nothing to fear when it comes to someone being able to deprive you of your rights and/or due process, then you desparately need to read this article.

WorldNetDaily: Outrage in Alabaster

Thanks, Neal, for bringing attention to this story on a National level.
