Tackling Hunger - Campbells is donating soup to feed the homeless. Each time someone goes to this site and clicks on their favorite NFL team, they donate 1 can of soup.
My pal Kermit will be proud to know that Packers fans have been the most generous so far.

For obvious reasons, I was away from a computer for the better part of last week. Thanks to all of you who expressed your condolences.
We spent the time with my Mom and Dad, going through my Grandmother’s apartment. I learned some things that I never knew about before. I knew that my Grandparents had delivered newspapers for quite a while, but found a stack of letters from a Mr. Boone, president of the Tuscaloosa News. It was really neat to see correspondence between them, lowly paper carriers, and Mr. Boone. It’s also neat because my buddy Wes now works for Mr. Boone’s son.
I also got to go hunting on Saturday. I left Mom & Dad’s at 4am, and got settled into a shooting house. Unfortunately, the only deer that I saw that day were 2 does standing in the middle of the road, while I was driving in. Maybe next weekend…
It’s back to work tomorrow, where I’m sure I have a ton of stuff to catch up on.

Let’s start the catch-up posting by revisiting last week’s Friday Five.
1. List five things you’d like to accomplish by the end of the year. Let’s see… I guess these are supposed to be within reach…
- 1. Lose about 40 lbs.
- 2. Bag my first Buck.
- 3. Move into a new house.
- 4. Buy a truck.
- 5. Take a cruise.
2. List five people you’ve lost contact with that you’d like to hear from again.

- 3. Alan Johnston. Alan was president of Communix Corporation, my first real job.
- 4. Rob & Tracy Jones. Okay, so it’s technically 2 people. Both of our families moved out of Atlanta at the same time, and we just haven’t kept in touch with each other.
- 5. Ken Lee. Mr. Lee was the best teacher I had in high school, and let me work for his company during the summer.
3. List five things you’d like to learn how to do.

- 3. Woodworking, of my Dad’s caliber.

4. List five things you’d do if you won the lottery (no limit). Just Five??

5. List five things you do that help you relax.
- 1. Read.
- 2. Watch TV.

Wow. That was a lot harder than I thought it was going to be. Feel free to leave some of yours in the comments…

And now, as if my day hasn’t been laden with enough bad news, I’ve just found out that my backups failed tonight. Looks like I get to spend tomorrow debugging an anonymous RMAN error message.

80’s Lyric Quiz - So how big of an Eighties fan music fan were/are you?
I took this today, and got an embarassingly low score. So did Amanda.
Our friend Laurie, on the other hand, is ready to host VH1’s I Love The 80s.
It brought back a ton of great memories, and I’ve had 80s music stuck in my head all day long.
