Got Milk?

The other day at lunch, we were discussing stupid things that people have eaten. Someone suggested that it is phyically impossible to drink 1 gallon of milk in ten minutes, and to keep it down. I had never heard that, and was pretty amazed by that.

So after some Googling, the story is that even if you give yourself one hour, you can’t keep down a gallon of milk. There was even a major-league batboy that tried to win a bet he made with a player, and was suspended after he vomited all over the locker room.

I’m looking for someone (besides me) to take the challenge. I also found a story online about a guy who bet his co-workers $20, and won the bet.

I think that the Marshmallow Gun might be a great project to play around with.

How Ironic…

…That the 1000th post to clanMcGraw.com is a post lamenting the fact that I just don’t have time to post.

I’ve just uploaded a ton of new pictures to Flickr. I’ll try to get them organized soon, but they cover lots of things that have happened over the past month.

A few weeks ago, I scored a new digital camera. It’s a HP R607. We didn’t really need a new digital camera, but it was a) 4MP and b) $99. So I picked it up. One nice thing that it does, that our old Nickon does not do, is record video with sound. Here’s a clip of Caleb playing soccer. (6 MB)

Here’s another clip. It’s a clip from tonight’s R.A. initiation ceremony, of Brandon getting his R.A. vest. For those of you unfamiliar with the Baptist Church, it’s what boys do from grades 1-4 on Wednesday nights. They learn about Missions, but it’s closely based on the Boy Scouts. Click here to see the clip (2 MB).

Speaking of the Scouts, have I told everyone that Brandon’s selling popcorn? If I haven’t, do you want to buy some??? :)

Back from Philly, yo yo!

I’m back from a business trip in Philadelphia, PA.

The good - Seeing the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall. Standing about 5 feet from where both the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution were drafted was nothing short of awe-inspiring. Thanks to Kevin for taking pictures like this:

The bad - Having to leave early due to hurricane Rita.

Two of my new favorites, as pointed out by Jeff The Baptist:

If I dig a very deep hole, where will I come out? - Did you ever tell your Mom and Dad that you were going in the back yard to dig a hole straight to China? Well, this tool will let you know if you actually can. For the record, I would currently come out off the West coast of Austrailia.

Some day the mountain might get me, but the law never will.

Pardon my Vent

I have come to the conclusion that parents who take their kids to a public place and require their children to actually behave and listen to what’s going on are a dying breed.

I just returned from a cub scout outing, and I have never seen so many kids running around, actively disobeying what the leaders and firemen were asking them to do, while their parents just stood around with their hands in their pockets befoe in all of my life. It honestly soured everything good that I’ve experienced with Brandon’s cub scout group before.

Thanks for letting me get that off of my chest.

Yahoo!

One of my morning rituals is to visit Yahoo!’s most popular page. It’s a collection of the top stories that people are reading, and the top pictures that they are viewing as well.

Today’s page had something that just made me laugh. You’ll need to click the link, and view the notes on the picture to really understand:
