The Authority of Scripture.
I’d love to share more, but I was getting ready to drive to Alpharetta, so I missed class.

To my friend Billy: “I wish I could quit you.”
Even though you stood me up for dinner tonight. I guess it’s payback for me standing you up last time.

TLC Life Lessons - Amanda collects Precious Moments figurines.
Luckily, we don’t have any of these. Yet.

I’m thiiiiiiiiiiiis close to being really disappointed with Netflix.
On top of being throttled heavily, 3 of the last 4 movies we’ve received have been cracked and unplayable.

Amanda’s been feeling a little better each day. Sunday night was pretty rough, but she felt good enough yesterday to take Caleb to speech, and to pick up Brandon from school. Today she took both kids to school.
With any luck, I’ll have her cutting the grass this weekend.

Our friends, Brad & Andrea, have submitted a picture of their son, Lane, in a contest. If he wins, he’ll have his picture appear on a label of Jones Soda. If you’d like to help him win, click here to vote.
Disclaimer: I’ve never had a Jones Soda. If it tastes bad, blame Brad.

The worst, yet funniest, part of Amanda’s hospital stay came yesterday. I was with her in the recovery room, and next to us was a family of 3. A redneck family of 3. A family that would have made the Foxworthy family reunion look like a 5-star affair at the Kennedy center. The son, apparently, had some sort of operation on his penis.
You read that correctly. I’ll have to share the comments with you all in person.

Wow, these are pretty cheesy…
1) Of the various cultures, ethnicities or nationalities you belong to, which most strongly do you consider yourself?
Well, I’m a southern white guy with Irish/Scottish roots, as far as I know.

The Jewish people. I love their customs and traditions.
3) What’s one language you wish you knew fluently?
Hebrew.
4) If you could move anywhere in the world and be guaranteed a job, etc., where would you go?
I’d be somewhere in the tropics.

The signing of the Declaration of Independence, or the Constitution.

This week we studied the Canon of Scripture.
Well, the rest of my group studied it. I was at the hospital with Amanda, while she had her gall bladder removed. We’re home now, and she’s recovering slowly. Thanks for all of your prayers yesterday.

1) If you were to star in a movie, who would you want to be cast as your love interest? Drew Barrymore. (I’d be played by Sean Connery, in case you’re wondering).
2) What genre of movie would you most like to star in? Action-Adventure.
3) What song would you insist be on the soundtrack? Something with Bagpipes, or Van Halen’s Dreams.
4) What would you wear to the premiere of your movie? A kilt.
5) Who would you thank in your Oscar acceptance speech? A *personal* God (as opposed to the ‘big guy up there’ that so many people pay homage to), my family, friends, and James Taranto. ![]()
