Remember Mindspring? They were an ISP that started in the Atlanta area back in 1995, and went nationwide. I opened an account with them in 1995. They were eventually swallowed up by Earthlink, which switched off the @mindspring.com domain.
I’ve used the bmcgraw@mindspring.com email address for over 11 years. I called today to have it switched off. If you’re not already using another email address for me, then we’re about to lose contact. My new address is similar to the old one, but using a certain Google-Based email service as the domain. Or you can always search through the old comments to find another email address for me.

Today I was notified by my hosting company that the server hosting clanMcGraw.com is being decommissioned on 9/15. I’ve been looking around at other hosting companies for a while now, due to performance issues here (especially with comments - God Bless those of you with patience posting them!!)
Anyways, it looks like I’ll be switching hosting companies soon. Hopefully it will happen without any interruption, but just in case you visit in mid-September only to find that clanMcGraw.com’s unavailable… Well, now you know why.
(I also think it’s time for a site redesign. The current scheme’s been on since 2002.)

In an earlier comment, I mentioned a yellow jacket nest in a VW beetle. I was mistaken. The yellow jacket next was as large as a VW beetle.
You can read the story online for yourself. Just incredible.

Ever wonder what goes inside of a Netflix shipping center? Here’s a good story about a pretty secretive operation.

Unfortunately, the lawn won.
I got up Saturday morning, and drove into Bibb County to help my buddy Jodey assemble a playground set at his Church. It was hot, but the assembly went really well. I even got a fantastic lunch fixed by some ladies at the Church. I left there at 1:30, to go home and take care of some yardwork.
I should have stayed at the Church.
Before I started cutting the back yard, I noticed that some creeping vines that look really nice on our fence had started creeping across the yard. Spent one hour getting all of that mess pulled up. Then I started cutting the back yard. About 10 minutes into it, something hit my leg. And it hurt. Wow, did it hurt. I looked down to find out I’d been stung by a bee. Swatted it off. Then my hand started hurting. Bee on my hand. Then my arm. Bee on my arm. Then Bees everywhere.
I’d just ran over a yellow-jacket nest.
I stepped back, yelled for the boys to go inside, and grabbed what little bug spray I had to fight back. That ran out pretty quickly. I went to the store to get some more, and after killing enough bees to make me feel better, I went back to work, carefully avoiding that area of the yard.
I finished cutting the grass about 7:30. I’ve still got to go back and edge the yard sometime this week. I’m loving the bigger yard, but days like this make me want to go back to apartment-living.

On Tuesday, school started. Brandon started the Second Grade on Tuesday. Here both boys are showing off their uniforms:
The big news, though, was that Caleb started Kindergarten. Here he is in his GQ pose:
And here’s my little buddy rolling his way to class:
It’s been a great school year for everyone so far. Let’s hope it continues!
