This was broken to me last night at a Sunday School class party:
This is one of my few favorite TV shows, but I always thought it paled in comparison to SurvivorMan, just because a film crew went with Mr. Grylls.

I’ll just quote Amanda:
“Mom got to go home today. We’ve seen miracles, and answered prayers. You can blog that!”
Amen. Soli Deo Gloria!

…According to Brandon & Caleb McGraw:

This is how it started today:

I walked into the kitchen today, to be totally surprised at the ingenuity and secrecy of 1 wife, 2 boys, and lots of helpers. Balloons, presents, and Doughnuts!

Thank you all so much. You made an old man tear up this morning.

(For those of you curious about the answer to the previous question: It is a Beckett Device).
Anyways… What a wet weekend. I had hoped to cut the grass on Saturday, but when the rain started I decided to spend the day at the office instead. It was just me around the house, as I’d taken the boys to my Grandmother’s house on Thursday night, and my Mom and Dad had picked them up from her. So I caught up on some overdue paperwork.
Speaking of the boys - Mom took them to get a haircut for me. Brandon kept saying he wanted a buzz cut. I hadn’t told Mom that it was okay for her to get him one, so she didn’t let him get one. In my Dad’s words: “If he wants a buzz cut, he needs to do that on Mom & Dad’s watch.”
Diane’s been moved to the former West Alabama hospital, which is now the DCH rehabilitation hospital. Our main concern about her is that she’ll be able to take in enough calories to allow her to exercise and recover, without losing any more weight. I got to take the boys to see her yesterday afternoon, and I think it cheered her up to see them.

For your enjoyment… The Vienna Vegetable Orchestra:

Diane may be leaving the hospital for physical rehab. tomorrow. We’re afraid that this might be too soon, since she’s struggling with her nutritional needs. But they have a private room available for her, which is a medical necessity due to her open dialysis ports. Please pray that she’ll be able to maintain her caloric intake without supplements. If she can’t, there’s a good chance we’ll wind up where she was about 7 weeks ago. For those of you keeping score, Diane’s been in the hospital for 91 consecutive days.
If you’ve been trying to reach Amanda on her cell phone, you may have noticed that it died. I was able to get her a new one today. Her number’s the same, but she can actually receive incoming calls now.
Overheard: “Fantasy Football is Dungeons and Dragons for people who used to make fun of people who played Dungeons and Dragons.” (For the record, I’ve only played Fantasy Football once, and I never played Dungeons and Dragons).
I saw 3 gas stations tonight, in a 1 mile radius of each other. Prices: $2.79, $2.89, and $2.97. The $2.79 and $2.97 prices were owned by the same brand.
Today I learned the official name of this device. Do you know it?

(Trivia questions just aren’t as much fun ever since search engines were invented. This question is on the honor system.)

Have you heard about the great, new FDA-endorsed diet drug, Alli? If you’re thinking about trying it, you might want to read about Alli’s Side Effects In Layman’s Terms.
This writer gets bonus points for this article, if for no other reason, because he links to one of the funniest stories of all time: The Ryans Steakhouse Story.
(Warning: If some rough language offends you, the Alli story may be okay for you. But don’t read the Ryans story. Don’t blame me for laughing until you hurt).
