With Brandon away at scout camp, Caleb and I watched Top Shots on TV last night. It’s a Survivor-type reality show, but with… guns!

The family went shooting on Saturday. It was Caleb’s first time ever. I’d bought him a single shot .22 a few years ago (the tan one in front of him), and he did okay with it. However, I let both he and Brandon try out my 10/22, which is a Semi-Automatic. Caleb shot much better with it. I got Brandon to pull the trigger as fast as he could, and he loved that.

Caleb asked if we could go shooting again yesterday.

Apologies to my co-workers, because things at work went Tango-Uniform, while I was away.

You know, I’d contemplate having a third child, just for the opportunity to pass these out instead of cigars:

In celebration of Pastor Jodey putting the Camp Branch Baptist Church sermons online – the BranchCast I decided to go through my iTunes library and export the lists of Podcasts that I’m currently subscribed to. You’ll see them in the Podcasts category on the left.

Now, this is not everything that I listen to. It’s just what I’ve enjoyed so much that I subscribed to them. There are a couple of shows that I listen to periodically (WeatherBrains and Gun Nuts – The Next Generation, to name a few) that fall into that category.

Tastes change over time, but hopefully I’ll remember to update the Podcast links periodically.

Happy National Buy-A-Gun Day! If you’ve been wanting to join the ranks of the bitter, backwoods, God-fearing, gun-toting crowd, anti-illegal immigration crowd – or you just want to piss off Senator Obama – todays your chance!

I repeat my annual idea here: We should do away with the government withholding money from our regular paychecks.

Instead, I believe that we should calculate our taxes in January, and pay the amount to the government, in full, on April 15. That way you are forced to recognize just how much the government takes from you, annually.

And then, on April 16th, we hold elections.

Forget about term limits – This would be more effective.
