Forms

Friday, January 13th, 2006

For everyone who complains (and rightly so!) about the complexity of the IRS and their tax code, I think that I have found their equal: the FCC.

A few days ago, I went to try and file a change of address form for my Amateur Radio Operator license. I was unable to login successfully, and asked for a change of password. Now, most web sites perform this online. But not the FCC. Their password change procedure for a FRN sends an email, and an administrator looks into it.

The next day, I got an email stating that my request was denied, for the following reason: Register PSQ. Apparently, I am unable to reset my password because I do not have a Personal Security Question. Yet, I cannot login because I have forgotten my password.

I gave up on that. Today I downloaded the form to register a change of address. It is – and I am not kidding – 26 pages. All this to change the Address and City that I live in.

WaterSpout

(Okay, I still haven’t done the random thoughts yet, but hey… Work happens).

So on Tuesday Morning, we looked off the deck and saw this:

WaterSpout

I think I can classify that as my first ever tornado that I’ve spotted. Credit actually goes to my Dad, who spotted it first. In fact, he took an awesome series of pictures, which I have taken the liberty of posting here. Note: I’ve left the pictures a little bit larger than usual, so if you’re on dial-up you may have a slight wait. But trust me – it’s worth it.
