School started today. Everyone was up bright and early at 6:00. Bet the same thing doesn’t happen tomorrow.

Please allow me to interrupt the overall silence of clanMcGraw.com with a gratuitous Dad brag.

I just got an email from Evangel. It turns out that Caleb’s scores on the SAT test have made him eligible for Duke University’s Talent Identification Program. We learned through Brandon’s experience that it’s a pretty neat organization. Can’t wait to begin taking advantage of it!!

This was posted on Twitter over the weekend, but I wanted to share it here as well:

The family went shooting on Saturday. It was Caleb’s first time ever. I’d bought him a single shot .22 a few years ago (the tan one in front of him), and he did okay with it. However, I let both he and Brandon try out my 10/22, which is a Semi-Automatic. Caleb shot much better with it. I got Brandon to pull the trigger as fast as he could, and he loved that.

Caleb asked if we could go shooting again yesterday.

You are cordially invited to join us on Sunday, November 23rd, at Hunter Street Baptist Church as we gather to rejoice in Caleb’s public proclamation of his faith in Jesus Christ.

Caleb will be baptized in the 9:30am service. You’re invited to help us celebrate. I don’t have any details on what we’ll do afterwards, but lunch is on clanMcGraw.

Sorry for the delay, folks. I spent last week in Philadelphia, and had no time to post these links. In fact, I still haven’t had a chance to upload all of the pictures I quickly snapped on my Blackberry, although those of you who follow my twitter feed saw most of those, in real time, as they were uploaded to twitpic.

We’re back in Birmingham, from our family vacation. For those of you who weren’t in the know, we spent the week in Orlando at Disney. I put a geek spin on it by trying to update Twitter (and Facebook) as often as possible, with a few pictures thrown in for good measure. You can review the tweet-by-tweet action, if you so desire.

Lots of pictures, video, and commentary to follow. But for now… I’ve got to get some sleep.

Caleb took the news like a little trooper last night. There were quite a few tears, but it wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. He wanted to see Caleb one last time in his aquarium, and then we removed him. However, instead of receiving a “burial at sea”, Caleb the fish will be interred in our flower bed this afternoon.

Kinda reminds you of The Cosby Show, doesn’t it?

I know that in the great, grand scheme of things, this doesn’t mean much. But:

Please say a prayer for Caleb. His little goldfish, Caleb – he named the fish after himself, died this morning, and we’ve got to break the news to him tonight. It’s not going to be a good night at casa de McGraw.
