Noah Earley

Thursday, November 6th, 2008

Noah is a 7 year old boy at our Church. He was born with Downs Syndrome. He is one of the happiest, loving children that I have ever met.

In October, Noah was diagnosed with leukemia – Acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) – to be exact. We’ve been praying for his recovery, and I ask you to do the same.

This morning, I got an email from a friend (Thanks, Jaime!!) that his parents have set up a Caring Bridge website for him. If you have a minute, I would ask that you take the time to visit it, and them a note to let them know you’re thinking about them and praying for them. I’ve also added the link to the left hand side of the page.

Hang in there, Noah! We’re praying for you!

No va el barrio

Thursday, May 8th, 2008

My friend, Wes, is going on a Mission trip to Venezuela on May 13th. He’s put up a special blog for a limited time. He’s posting one-sentence prayer requests leading up to the trip, and will try to update it while he’s away.

If you’ve got a few minutes, pop over and lift him, his family, and the trip up in prayer. Thanks.

He’s Doing It!

Thursday, March 27th, 2008

My friend Kevin is live-blogging (or is it live-tweeting?) the birth of his son today. You can follow their progress here.

I’m wondering which will come first: Jackson’s arrival, or Tiphanie shoving his blackberry where the sun don’t shine. :)

Note to Wes: The standard’s been set, buddy.

Here’s your obligatory ‘Kids in Easter Clothes picture:’

Is That Thunder I hear?

Tuesday, January 8th, 2008

If you’re up for some Theological discussion: My friend Tim has started blogging again at NotThunder.com. I highly advise that you add it to your list of daily reads.

Tim, is that enough pressure to keep you on a daily update schedule? :)

Prayer for an Adoption

Sunday, November 18th, 2007

From our Sunday School teachers, and friends, John and Syble:

As many of you know, we have been in the process of adopting Sarah Grace for the last 9 months. She is in Guatemala, and we had a great visit with her in September. Four weeks ago we were told that the PGN (Guatemalan court consisting of 3 attorneys) was ready to approve our adoption of Sarah if Sarah’s birth mom would sign a waiver stating that she was willingly giving up Sarah for adoption. Our attorney obtained the signed document and turned it in the following day. We expected the PGN’s final approval to occur within days of the document being turned into them. Four weeks have passed, and we have heard nothing fro m the PGN. If PGN does not approve our adoption this week, it will be very difficult for us to get Sarah home before Christmas. If it goes that long, we then face an even longer delay because the Guatemalan government shuts down for the holidays for 4-6 weeks. This means we would be looking at late January or early February. We really, really want Sarah to spend Christmas with us.

We are seeking prayer support from everyone and invite you to join us in praying specifically for PGN’s final approval to be granted this week. Monday evening from 7:00-8:00 PM Syble, Hannah, and I will be praying for PGN to approve our adoption this week. Where ever you might be during that hour, we would appreciate you pausing for a moment and praying that PGN will release our case so that we can proceed and get Sarah home for Christmas.

We appreciate all the prayers offered on our behalf thus far in this process and look forward to our prayer time tomorrow night knowing that from many locations in this state and across the country we have Christian brothers and sisters praying with us.

I ask that you would join us in prayer Monday night, from 7-8pm, that this case would be wrapped up before Christmas.
