Yankee Stadium

Wednesday, September 24th, 2008

So last Friday, while recovering from the 39-hour uptime, I met Kevin in our hotel lobby, to go and grab some lunch. While we were waiting for some other guys, Kevin mentioned that 9/21 was going to be the last baseball game in Yankee Stadium. It’s scheduled to be demolished and replaced with a new stadium. We were both talking about how cool it would have been to go to a game in the “House that Ruth Built”.

Then it dawned on us… We were very, very close to the stadium.

Kevin called StubHub, and found 4 tickets for $40 each.

We talked with the hotel concierge (Mary at the Sheraton… You are wonderful!!) and she laid out bus schedules, train schedules, and a game plan.

So, in the tradition of the MasterCard commercials…

1 Ticket to the Yankees / Orioles game… $40
Train fare from Philadelphia to NY Penn Station… $33
Subway fare to The Bronx… $4
Being able to tell your kids that you ate a hot dog at the original Yankee Stadium… Priceless.

A set of blurry cameraphone pictures are also available to browse.

Disney Photos

Sorry for the delay, folks. I spent last week in Philadelphia, and had no time to post these links. In fact, I still haven’t had a chance to upload all of the pictures I quickly snapped on my Blackberry, although those of you who follow my twitter feed saw most of those, in real time, as they were uploaded to twitpic.

Our pictures have been uploaded to Google, and broken out by day.

The photos that the Disney Photopass staff took can be viewed here for a limited time.

Hope you enjoy!
