Vote Cast?

Tuesday, August 26th, 2008

So, the night before the Democratic Convention started, tornadoes hit Denver.

Now there’s a chance that Hurricane Gustav could hit New Orleans the night before the Republican Convention starts.

Is God casting His vote?

This might be a good year to vote Libertarian.

Local News Station Controversy

Tuesday, May 13th, 2008

A few months ago, meteorologist David Neal disappeared from the Channel 6 weather team. There’s been a lot of speculation about why he suddenly disappeared. Well, last night, co-worker Kevin found a story online and wrote about it.

David filed a lawsuit against Channel 6 yesterday. What a sad affair.

The lights are on!

Saturday, April 12th, 2008

Thank you, Alabama Power, for getting our electricity turned back on at 4am. That’s 2 hours ahead of what you’d told us earlier.

However… Next time, you don’t have to have your automated service call at 6am to tell us that electric service was restored.

Weather

Friday, April 11th, 2008

So I went to help my brother move a piano today. That’s a story in and of itself, but while I was there, the bad weather kicked in. We had golf ball sized hail, and some of the worst wind gusts I’ve seen since we rode out a tropical storm in Gulf Shores. The same storm passed over our house, and snapped a tree in our neighbor’s house in 2, ripping out power lines on our street.

Pictures to follow soon, I hope.

How my mind works

Monday, February 11th, 2008

Just an insight into the warped mind that is Brian McGraw’s…

Sunday night, my Biblical Theology is discussing 2 Kings. The author, whose book we’re studying, makes the statement that there are no theocracies today. I, of course, object to his statement. There are no Christian theocracies that I’m aware of, but there are plenty of of non-Christian theocracies in the world (i.e., Saudi Arabia, Iran, etc.).

So as we move on to the next point, my mind starts to wander…What if America was a Christian theocracy? My mind wanders to my friend Jodey, who has recently returned from Israel, and his comments about minarets. I wonder, “Would we have minarets set up, directing people to pray?” My next thought is, “I wonder what the city would look like with them set up all across the area?”

Then I realized that, at least in the South, we do have objects set up all across the landscape. When they sound, I can guarantee that the number of prayers in the surrounding areas increase dramatically:

Tornado Sirens: The minarets of the South. :)

Did somebody say Snow?

Thursday, January 17th, 2008

Q: How do you know when there’s a chance of snow in Alabama?

A: The #1 forum for Alabama weather discussion – TalkWeather.com – is shut down due to massive amounts of Internet traffic.

Personally? I’ll believe it when I see it. But that doesn’t mean that I’m not hoping like a giddy 6 year old…

Didn’t Think I’d See This Today…

Wednesday, January 16th, 2008

We weren’t supposed to get any sleet/snow/ice today. Just rain. However, from the Weather Station… Note the Current Weather line on top:

Now if it would only get a little colder, and stay cold, until the storm comes in Friday night… C’mon Blizzard of ’08!
